Arrowtown to the Wineries

Trails: Arrow River Bridges Trail & Gibbston River Trail.

Enjoy an easy scenic ride on the Arrow River Bridges Trail, alongside one of the world’s richest gold bearing rivers, through peaceful country roads, over breathtaking suspension bridges and onto the famous Gibbston wine making region where you can explore what our wine makers have to offer along the Gibbston River Trail.

Queenstown to Arrowtown

Trails: Shotover Gorge, Tucker Beach & Countryside Trails

Ride on the world famous Queenstown Trail, taking the  newly constructed Shotover Gorge Trail, onto the Tucker Beach and Countryside Trails, along the banks of the scenic Shotover and Kawarau rivers, and through peaceful backcountry pastures.

Already been that way? Take the back route along the new Wharehuanui Trail instead.

Shotover Gorge Trail

Trails: Tucker Beach Trail, Shotover Gorge Trail & Arthurs Point Trail

Cycle from the historic Old Shotover Bridge along the Tuckers Beach Trail onto the newly constructed Shotover Gorge Trail, which takes you through the impressive Hugo Tunnel and across the new Kimi-akau bridge.

Stop in Arthurs Point for a drink and a snack before heading back to Queenstown on the Arthurs Point Trail.

Kawarau Gorge Trail

Trails: Kawarau Gorge Trail

The new Kawarau Gorge Trail offers riders a chance to soak up the region’s unique history and landscape.

Starting in the world famous Gibbston Valley wine region, winding through dramatic river
gorges and golden tussock slopes, you will ride
across purpose build bridges and platforms high over the Kawarau River; enjoying stunning alpine and river valley vistas at every turn.

Queenstown to Jacks Point

Trails: Frankton Track, Kelvin Heights Trail & Jack's Point Trail

Enjoy the amazing picturesque scenery of Lake Wakatipu and the Remarkables Mountain Range.

Start in Queenstown and cycle on the Frankton Track around the Frankton arm of Lake Wakatipu and onto the Kelvin Heights Trail, around the peninsula where it joins the stunning Jacks Point Trail.

This trail is suitable for intermediate riders.

Lake Dunstan Trail

Trails: Lake Dunstan Trail

Enjoy the best of Central Otago’s natural beauty as you ride alongside the still waters of Lake Dunstan and explore historic relics from the gold rush days.

Weave your way along Lake Dunstan, with places to stop and relax or take a swim. Explore the galleries, cafés and stores at Cromwell’s Heritage Precinct. Take in the views over vineyards and mountains.

Roxburgh Gorge Trail

Trails: Roxburgh Gorge Trail

Ride alongside the Clutha River, through narrow gorges and towering bluffs, past historic schist huts and swathes of thyme.

Leave the urban environment behind and enter the backcountry wilderness, take in the inspiring colours of Central Otago, and the stone walled terraces remaining from the days of gold mining.

Includes jetboat transfer across Lake Roxburgh.

Clutha Gold Trail

Trails: Clutha Gold Trail

Discover one of NZ’s finest cycle trails, steeped in history and majesty, alongside the mighty Clutha River with its distinctive landscapes.

Ride past orchards and the stunning blue waters of the mighty Clutha River. Take a detour across the bridge to the Roxburgh township for refreshments.

Journey along quiet, remote country roads and disused railway lines, in a region steeped in gold mining history and mystery.

Around the Mountains Trail

186kms of world class Great Ride trail.

From the urban excitement of Queenstown to the agricultural hinterland of Southland, the Around The Mountains Cycle Trail offers an unrivalled diversity that inspires a sense of achievement and lifelong memories for any who ride it.

7 Mile Bike Park

Trails: 37 singletrack mountain bike trails

There is something for everyone to enjoy at this well-maintained mountain biking area with a diverse mix of flowy trails, technical singletrack, bermed descents and a few steeper, rocky lines for more advanced riders.

Highlights include fast, fun groomed trails like Rolleston and the gravity-fed descents off the ridgeline, and several scenic lookout points over Lake Wakatipu and the Remarkables.

It’s suitable for beginner mountain bike riders (short, mellow loops and practice features), intermediate riders (longer flow and mixed-technical routes) and advanced riders looking for more challenging lines.

Coronet Peak Trails

Trails: 20+ single track mountain bike trails

Coronet Peak’s trail network offers a mix of high-alpine singletrack, technical rock gardens, flowy bermed sections and fast descents carved into ski terrain, with purpose-built lines like Ranger and Inca drawing riders for sustained, gravity-fed runs.

It suits intermediate to advanced riders best (technical and steep sections), though some lower-grade options and shuttle-accessible runs make it possible for confident intermediates; not ideal for absolute beginners.

Allow half a day to a full day to sample multiple descents.
